Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Philadelphia Police Department announces the availability of funding for the purpose of developing a comprehensive law enforcement project for the educational model for the purposes of identifying, pursuing, dismantling and prosecuting offenders and organizations in the area of sex and labor trafficking will be based and directed from the Special Victims Unit at the Philadelphia Safety Collaborative, located at 300 E. Hunting Park Avenue. The Philadelphia Police Department will train professionals using a victim centered approach. Effective training of law enforcement professionals and community stakeholders will be the cornerstone in establishing a no tolerance mandate throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding counties as it relates to this heinous crime. Human trafficking is modern day slavery and involves the use of force, fraud or coercion to exploit a person for labor or commercial sex. With an aggressive training program for our task force personnel and an equally aggressive educational campaign geared towards the public, we will have partnered together to work towards eliminating this injustice to humanity.
