Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Philadelphia Department of Human Services (DHS) childcare services aims to promote educational, social, emotional,cultural and developmental well-being for DHS involved children in Out-of-Home Placement. DHS contracts with childcare providers who will provide a safe environment where DHS children can learn and play, havepositive interaction with their peers, and promote school readiness for a successful transition into kindergarten and a successful academic future.The targetpopulations to be served are non-school aged children/youth 0-5 and 6-12 years of age who may need full, preand after school care servicesor Out of School Time care.Qualifying Applicant must demonstrate sufficient experience and expertise in this typeof service support.Applicant must provide child care and/or after school services in accordance with all applicable state laws and regulations.Applicant must also comply with performance standards and policies set forth by the Department of Human Services. The Applicant must be a private non-profit or for-profit organization. Organizations that are tax exempt under Section 501[c] 3 of the Internal Revenue Code must submit a copy of their most recent IRS Determination Letter. Applicant must not be a government agency. DHS funded child care service is limited to families receiving in-home services or children committed to the Department of Human Services; provided on a temporary basis until CCIS or another resource is obtained; and provided temporarly to children ages (0-5 and 6-12 years of age) or through age 19 with medical documentation stating thatthe respective youth are not able to care forthemselves. For a family to receive DHS funded child care, families must have submitted applications for all programs such PHL PreK, PreK Counts, Head Start, Kindergarten and may be on the CCIS waiting list. Applicant may notprovide child care services without receipt of the DHS CCEU Acceptance Letter that includes official enrollment date and per diem rate. No substitution from DHS/CUA case management team, subcontracted providers beyond the DHS CCEU Unit should be accepted.
