Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall provide new/unused current product that meets or exceeds the following minimum technical requirements: a. ASTM F 1506-02a STANDARDS All proposed apparel (except gear bag and hood bag) shall must be manufactured, tested, and furnished according to the latest edition, revision, or amendment to the applicable standards of ASTM F 1506-02a: Standard Performance Specification for textile Material for Wearing Apparel for use by Electrical Workers exposed to Momentary Electric Arc and Related Thermal Hazards. b. NFPA 70E 2004 HAZARD RISK CATEGORIES All proposed apparel (except gear bag and hood bag) shall be provided to meet or exceed NFPA 70E 2012, or most current edition, Hazard Risk Categories (HRC) 1 through 4: Long sleeved fire retardant shirts with a minimum ATPV of 4 cal/sq cm Fire retardant coveralls with a minimum of HRC of 4, preferably 8 cal/sq cm or greater Fire retardant pants and long sleeved shirt to use in place of the coveralls – minimum ATPV of 8 cal/sq cm or greater Face shield and hard hat with a minimum ATPV of 8 cal/sq cm Flash suit or equivalent overalls and jacket with minimum ATPV of 25 cal/sq cm Flash suit hood with minimum ATPV of 25 cal/sq cm Fire retardant hard hat liner with minimum ATPV of 4 cal/sq cm c. CLASS 2 HIGH-VISIBILITY APPAREL ANSI/ISEA 107-2010 compliant Class 2 apparel provides torso coverage of a minimum of 755 sq. in. of background material and 201 sq. in. of retro-reflective material. Class 2 apparel must have both background and retro-reflective material. d. LABELING All items shall be affixed with a permanent label that clearly states the ATPV rating and associated NFPA 70E Hazard Risk Category.
