Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Perform all fire alarm inspections during the second quarter; 2. provide testing and inspection reports that describe results of functional testing of the fire alarm control panel, smoke detectors, pull stations, audible/visual signaling devices, water flow switches, valve tamper switches, and a visual inspection of heat detectors; 3. provide a complete inventory of all system components at the time of testing; 4. test each system in accordance with all applicable and pertinent codes and standards; 5. provide a report describing all failures and including recommended remedies; 6. test initiating devices by operating them in the manner prescribed by the manufacturer; 7. clean smoke detectors using manufacturer recommended method(s); 8. visually and audibly inspect all notification appliances such as strobes, horns, and bells for the verification of operation; 9. test all circuits for shorts and ground faults; 10. open and short circuits in both the FACP and NAC panels to ensure supervisory signals function; and 11.load test all batteries.
