Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide crating services with levels of packing ranging from soft-packing to museum-quality wooden crate fabrication, delivery and onsite packing as specified and requested. Construct custom crates suitable for extended traveling shows and high-end artwork. Crates must be created according to custom specifications provided by University and must meet Museum Industry standards for crate fabrication. Provide logistical coordination of crate construction including possible primary contact with lenders at University’s discretion. Crates must provide moisture barriers, air-tight seal, and insulation from gasses and pollutants. Crate artworks onsite. Onsite locations may include University’s campus, lender warehouses, and lenders’ private residences. Crate specifications: Wood crate sufficient to contain 1 framed oil painting on canvas to travel domestically in the United States and to a level of quality and finish consistent with professional museum practice: including varnished surfaces, waterproofed joints, moisture barriers, gasketed lids/sides, stenciled crate dims, wood handles, archival foam padding appropriate to protect works from vibration during transit.
