Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The trailer must be painted or powder coated in the manufacturer’s standard color, yellow is preferred. All steel “deck” surfaces that can be walked upon or driven on must have “sand or grit” in the painted surface. Additional paint or underbody protective coatings must be bid as options if available. 2. The trailer must have a minimum certified load capacity of 100,000 pounds at 55 MPH with a concentrated load capacity of 100,000 pounds in a 16 foot span. Trailer capacity must have a minimum 2:1 safety factor at rated highway speed to protect the structure from shock loads and off road use. 3. The trailer double drop well loaded deck height must be 26 inches maximum and the decks ground clearance must be a minimum of 10 inches when measured while the trailer is level in transport mode. 4. The trailer deck width must be 102 inches with 12" swing out arms to allow for 126 inch total width. Removable center boards that are compatible with outside outriggers must be provided, fastened to the trailer frame. Outriggers must have a means of supporting board ends and joints when in use. 5. The trailer frame must be of a 4 member structural I-beam construction. Beam flanges must be minimum of 3/4” x 7” on center beams and 1/2” x 6” on perimeter beams. Cross members in main deck area outer bays will be on 12 inch spacing and 24 inch spacing in center main deck area. Center bays must have perforated steel plate or heavy expanded metal covering bottoms to allow chains, blocks and strap storage and walking in them. Front 2 center bays shall have “flat bar” chain hangers (2 per bay) welded across for chain storage. 6. The trailer’s loadable deck (well) length must be not less than 25 feet, 7 inches. 7. The gooseneck must fold down into a ramp at the front of the trailer. The ramp must provide a smooth transition between the ground and trailer deck. The ramp must be continuous across its width and made from “star plate” or other approved slip resistant steel. The folding gooseneck shall be operated by (2) 4-1/2” x 30” hydraulic cylinders and have a mechanical lock for use when truck is unhooked. The gooseneck arms shall have 2-3/4” pins and elongated bushings, to allow the ramp to accommodate a wider range of ground contour when in down position. The hydraulic “landing gear pads” or “sand-shoes” must not be less than 13” x 16” in size to support trailer when unhooked from truck. 8. The trailer shall hydraulically fold by using the trailer’s self-contained hydraulic system. Hydraulic system must be 3000 psi at 12 gpm. This system must also power the on-board winch. Self-contained system must be powered by an electric start 11.7 HP Honda, or approved equal engine. Engine shall be center mounted below the main deck just forward of the first axle. Engine shall be protected by heavy skid plate on the bottom and a lockable cover on the top. Engine compartment must have adequate ventilation for intake and exhaust. Engine controls must include electric start/stop, throttle and choke and be accessible from driver’s side of the trailer. 9. The wood deck shall be 2 inch (nominal) thick “Apitong”, sound knots, no bark. The wood deck must be secured with through bolts, nuts and clips, and be raised 3/8” above the top of the perimeter frame. Bolt heads shall be countersunk flush with top of deck boards. Deck screws will not be accepted. 10. Tires shall be covered by removable tread plate covers. Top of covers will create a “flat load surface” above tires. Clearances must exist between tires and lower edges of covers for tire chain installation, (6 inches minimum w/suspension lowered). Center recessed “well” of upper rear shall have a removable perforated steel plate trough cover.
