Specifications include, but are not limited to: It is the intent during the contract period, as nearly as possible, to purchase all the requirements for a full service laboratory that is accredited by the Commission on Inspection and Accreditation of Laboratories of the College of American Pathologists from the firm(s) to which the contract is awarded. The lab should be licensed to operate in interstate commerce by the Centers for Disease Control of the Department of Health and Human Services and licensed by the Federal Nuclear Regulatory commission for radioimmunoassys. The City of Tulsa’s Medical Section provides medical services, such as physical exams, OSHA testing, and drug / alcohol testing for City employees. All lab tests performed at City Medical are paid for the by City of Tulsa; City employees are not billed for these services. It is our intent that all laboratory reports be electronically transferred into the City’s occupational software. We are currently using Nextgen electronic medical record system. We have a bi-directional interface for orders and results. Laboratory information will be used to direct confidential individual patient care, epidemiological surveillance for occupational diseases, monitoring selected laboratory data for specialized health promotion programs, and aggregate laboratory information will be used for reporting purposes to the City of Tulsa.
