A. Demo: 1) Excavate and remove existing main water line/pipe, from existing water meter to where it enters the armory’s foundation. The distance from existing water meter to the armory’s entrance point is approximately 320 linear feet. Existing water meter is located at the Northeast Corner of the owner’s property. Water line enters the Armory at the Southeast corner of the Armory. (See owner’s representative for the specific locations of the existing water line). 2) Disconnect and remove the existing backflow preventer, with all its operational components, and dispose. The backflow preventer is located in the armory’s mechanical room. (See owner’s representative for the specific location of the backflow preventer). 3) Disconnect, remove and dispose of the existing water softener and its operational components. Contractor shall cap the supply water pipes 6 inches below their existing shut-off valves. The existing water softener is located in the mechanical room. (See owner’s representative for the specific location of the water softener system). B. Installation: 1) Install a new 3-inch Type L copper pipe water line, approximately 320 linear feet, from the existing water meter to the armory’s mechanical room. Contractor should use the existing excavated trench, which expose the existing water line. This new pipe shall extend into the mechanical room and will be tied into the existing water distribution pipes. (See owner’s representative for the specific location of mechanical room). 2) Install a new backflow preventer, similar to the existing unit. As part of this system, install two new isolations shot off ball valves, at opposite ends of new backflow. New backflow system shall be attached/fasten to the existing water distribution lines. At the conclusion of the project, the contractor shall test the new backflow and report/send the test result to the local water governing administrative department. (See owner’s representative for the specific location of the new backflow preventor). 3) Contractor shall backfill the exposed trench with the industry standard aggregate and finish with topsoil. Contractor shall apply new grass seed and water exposed area. Contractor may use the owner’s water to water new grass seed. 2. Contractor is responsible to ensure that all new plumbing installations and connections are performed by a certified plumber, and in accordance with all federal, state, local city codes and must meet industry standards. All new plumbing systems shall be installed in accordance with their manufacturer’s directions, and recommendations. 3. Contractor is responsible to remove all rubbish generated during this service/project and submit waste disposal tickets to the owner’s representative at the conclusion of the project. (Owner will provide a blank waste disposal form at the Pre-Bid meeting). 4. Contractor is responsible to provide their own water, power, and exterior restroom facilities for the duration of this project.
