Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.7. Excavation, removal and disposal of seven (7) existing underground storage tanks (UST’s), submersible diesel fuel pumps and associated piping used to store petroleum products, waste oils or hazardous wastes in accordance with The State of Ohio Administrative Code under the Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations (BUSTR), Federal, State, and local regulations. 1.7.1. The (7) USTs to be removed and disposed are: 1.7.1.1. Four (4) 25,000-gallon diesel fuel fiberglass tanks 1.7.1.2. One (1) 6,000-gallon engine oil fiberglass tank 1.7.1.3. One (1) 2,000-gallon automatic transmission fluid fiberglass tank 1.7.1.4. One (1) 6,000-gallon engine coolant fiberglass tank 1.7.1.4.1. This tank was previously taken out of service. Contractor to assess the status of the closure by evaluating any available closure documentation and fulfill BUSTR requirements for removal. 1.8. If at any time during tank removal, soil or groundwater contamination is suspected or if any tank appears to be leaking or have leaked in the past, contact the Owner immediately before proceeding with removal. 1.9. Furnishing notification and obtaining permits required by federal, state, and local regulating agencies; and furnishing all certifications and other official documentation required by BUSTR, federal, state, and local regulating agencies concerning the removal of USTs and the disposal of contaminated and/or hazardous wastes. 1.10. All regulations stipulated under the BUSTR rules take precedence over items in this specification. 1.11. Provide all required barriers and signage to prevent unauthorized entry into the work area. 1.12. Notify owner and state fire marshal Thirty (30) days, and Forty eight (48) Hours prior to commencement of work. Contractor is responsible for contacting the state fire marshal and any other requires regulatory agency. 1.13. Design, furnish, and install excavation support (sheeting or shoring) if required. Design and calculations to be stamped and sealed by professional engineer registered in the State of Ohio.
