Specifications include, but are not limited to: Passenger cars of all types including Sport Utility and A.P.V. vehicles (occasional van or pickup truck also desirable, should be available.) Wheel base – all sizes. Six or eight cylinders (4 cylinder engines may be requested on occasion.) Two or Four door sedan. Color – manufacturer’s standard colors are acceptable. They may be solid two-tone colors, or a combination suitable to the Police Department. Mileage of vehicles furnished shall not exceed 15,000 miles per model year. (Exception may be made under special circumstances approved by Police Department.) Offeror shall furnish license plates from several different deputy registrars so that numbers do not run consecutively. It shall be the Offeror’s sole responsibility to furnish and renew license plates in a timely fashion. If vehicle is inoperable, and brought in for repair, a spare shall be furnished at the same rate charged the City for the used passenger cars. If vehicle is not repaired to City’s satisfaction, it shall be replaced by a used passenger car meeting City Specifications. The spare vehicle shall meet the Detailed Specifications of the contract. MAINTENANCE Offeror agrees to maintain each vehicle its sole cost and expense. City will provide gasoline and makeup oil only. City shall be liable for the cost of repairs in the event of engine damage to the leased vehicle as a result of insufficient oil or anti-freeze. It shall be the sole obligation of City to maintain a safe quantity of oil in the engine and anti-freeze in the cooling system. If City takes vehicle to another contractor for repairs, the City will be responsible for the cost thereof, unless the Offeror issues a purchase order authorizing the repairs at its expense.
