Specifications include, but are not limited to: All lime furnished under this contract shall meet AWWA Standard B202-07, suitable for use in potable water industry, treatment and softening of potable water, in accordance with ANSI/NSF 60. The pebble lime shall be the best quality, freshly burned, substantially free of coarse, siliceous residue, pebbles, carbonate solids and any other foreign objects or matter that may interfere with the treatment process or damage to city equipment. The pebble lime crushed, ground, and classed by screen size known as one-half inch (1/2”) with minimal amount of dust and fine material. All furnished lime shall be crushed and screened from one-quarter inch (1/4”) and to three-quarters inch (3/4”) so that no lumps shall be greater than one inch (1”) in any dimension. The lime shall have a guaranteed available Calcium Oxide (CaO) content greater than or equal to ninety percent (90%). Price bid should be based on a purchase of approximately 1,680 tons, per the contract period. However, the City does not guarantee to purchase that quantity.
