Specifications include, but are not limited to: Services to be provided as part of this contract include but are not limited to: a. Preparing preliminary engineering studies b. Preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates c. Preparing construction duration estimates d. Providing construction support services such as field inspection, reviewing submittals and responding to requests for information e. Bridge inspections f. Load rating bridges g. Installing field instrumentation such as strain gages on structural components, recording and evaluating the data h. 30 modeling of bridges and other structures for structural evaluation i. General structural analysis and design of items such as bridges, catenary support structures, retaining walls, MSE walls, etc. j. Nondestructive (NOT) and destructive (DT) testing of structural components. This work may include removing samples from an existing bridge for testing. k. Geotechnical engineering including but not limited to soil borings, foundation evaluation and foundation design criteria I. Field surveying for plan development, etc. m. Environmental assessment, testing and evaluation such as lead-based paint testing and asbestos surveys n. Evaluation and recommendation of best practices and materials such as coating systems, concrete mix designs, appropriate NOT methods, etc. o. Cleaning (pressure washing and disposal of waste) of structural components prior to inspections such as abutment seats, beam ends, pier caps, etc. p. Ancillary services to facilitate completion of tasks such as RTA-certified flaggers when working on or near RTA tracks and signage and flaggers to maintain traffic on streets during field work. 2. The Prime Bridge Engineering Consultant must be prequalified by ODOT for Bridge Design Level 1 and Level 2 and Bridge Inspection Level 1 and Level 2. Any Consultant on the team performing bridge inspections must be prequalified by ODOT for Bridge Inspection Level 1. Any Consultant on the team performing bridge design must be prequalified by ODOT for at least Bridge Design Level 1. The remaining team members must also have the pertinent ODOT prequalifications applicable to the work they will perform. 3. Projects could involve the structural components of any of the GCRTA's facilities including bridges, catenary structures, bus garages, transit centers, rail shops and train stations. 4. Field personnel working on or near GCRTA tracks will be required to complete Rule Book C Training. There is no cost for the training. The training is completed in an 8 hour session. 5. The Prime Consultant will be required to obtain a Railroad Protective Liability Insurance Policy in the amount of $5 million/$1 O million. See insurance requirements for additional information.
