Specifications include, but are not limited to: OHIO University of Athens, Ohio (hereafter called “the University”) invites proposals from interested parties in taking possession of and relocating an existing University building, which is located at Nine Factory Street in Athens, Ohio (hereafter called “the Building”). This is a historic brick structure that is currently utilized by the University for general office space. The site where the Building resides will be used for the construction of a new, larger facility for the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (HCOM). Subsequently, the Building cannot remain in its current location and must either be relocated or demolished. It is the desire of the University to seek every reasonable opportunity to avoid demolishing the Building, and the preferred alternative is to have it relocated to a suitable private property nearby, although the University will entertain other alternative locations. Through this RFP process, the University invites firms and parties to propose economical and practical solutions for the permanent relocation of the Building to another feasible location. As the University has no planned future use for the Building, the University is willing to convey title of the Building to the bidder or an appropriate third party to help facilitate its relocation.
