Specifications include, but are not limited to: Kent State University is seeking proposals from experienced vendors to assess its network and systems and provide recommendations for improvements including prioritizations for investments. The goal of this project is to assess the current state of the Kent State University network and infrastructure including its physical cabling, fiber plant, switches, routers, and access points; as well making recommendation for a design to support the university’s goal of putting students first. This project extends to all eight of the university’s Ohio campuses. This project has two primary components which are detailed below: an assessment of the network and a future-facing network design. The result of both components should be a detailed report that includes: 1. Recommendations for investments in the network including prioritization, citing any critical areas for immediate improvement. These recommendations should include high-level cost estimates. The recommendations should be written for a general, non-technical audience. 2. A detailed technical document of all findings and recommendations, including costs, for the target audience of IT Management and Network Engineers.
