This project will require the successful engineering firm to display excellence in Central Plant Design, Chilled Water and Condenser Water Systems, Plant Automation systems, Electrical Distribution Engineering and Structural Analysis & Engineering. Additionally, expertise in 3D scanning and BIM Modeling to properly lay out various options for chillers and electric will be needed to successfully perform this project. Provide 3D scanning of the central plant and model options of chiller layouts along with electric equipment. 3D modeling of the plant is required to accurately depict existing conditions and new assets. The scope of this project shall assess the electrical service needs against the available spare capacity within the plant and recommend a solution to increase the electrical capacity to the plant. The scope of this project shall assess the structural design of the existing facility and develop design documents for any new or revised equipment and piping structure. The current plant must provide chilled water and steam 24/7/365. The AE shall develop phasing plans such that utilities can be provided continuously throughout the course of this project. Scope of work shall not include asbestos or lead surveys and descriptions of work for abatement. Asbestos surveying and subsequent remediation description of work will be performed directly by UC EHS. This AE shall include the asbestos remediation documents into the project bid documents for bidding purposes only.
