Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide space for another fire truck and to provide three or four individual sleeping quarters for firefighters. To accomplish these goals. the project will include two separate additions: The first is adding another apparatus bay to the west side of the of the fire station. This section will be between 25 and 30 feet wide and 65 to 75 feet long. The actual dimensions will depend upon the recommendation of the architect as to the most efficient use of funds. The addition will include an apparatus bay approximately 25 to 30 feet wide and 40 to 45 feet deep. This will be adequate to accommodate a 23-foot-long brush truck with space behind forstorage of lawn and maintenance equipment. The remainder of the addition will be designed as a workout room. The actual size will depend on the recommendation on the width and length of the entire addition. The second portion of the project is the addition of an approximately 34 by 16- foot space on the Northeast corner of the fire station. Currently, the station has a space that extends to the east 16 feet and the proposed addition would “square out” the building. The additional space will provide for individual sleeping quarters for the firefighters and provide a larger firefighter training office. Other possible changes would be to reconfigure the kitchen dayroom area, provide more area for the captain’s quarters, and move the laundry for the living quarters.
