Specifications include, but are not limited to: With the Project, the Town is seeking to increase water transmission capacity to the Ridgeview and Kilmayne water tanks within the water system's Central Pressure Zone by a combination of reinforcing and replacing the existing 12-inch water main on Kildaire Farm Road between SW Maynard Road and Queensferry Road. The Central Pressure Zone is the original and largest of three pressure zones in the Town. Water System Master Planning and subsequent hydraulic modeling efforts have recommended that this section of water main be either reinforced or replaced by installing a new 20-inch line from SW Maynard Road to High Meadow Drive, and a new 16-inch water main from High Meadow Drive to Queensferry Road. The Project will also require connecting to the Ridgeview Water Tank by replacing the existing 8-inch PVC water line along High Meadow Drive and then that 20-inch water main will cross Cary Parkway to the Ridgeview water tank. The Project will include the design and installation of approximately 8,500 linear feet of water main along the Project route. Special consideration will be required for the design and construction of this water main due to the Project corridor, Kildaire Farm Road and Cary Parkway, to minimize impacts to businesses, pedestrian and vehicular traffic, reconnecting water services, and existing utilities.
