Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Intersection Improvements Project consist of four locations sites… 1. Cary Parkway & Evans Road 2. Cary Parkway & Kildaire Farm Road 3. Maynard Road & High House Road 4. High Meadow Drive & Cary Parkway Major tasks shall include the following: • Providing engineers and technicians with the appropriate skills and qualifications to ensure contract compliance and final acceptance of maintenance by NCDOT, • Will be directly responsible for oversight of the project for the Town through final construction and warranty period, • Shall coordinate with the Town’s Project Manager throughout all phases of construction, • Shall administer, test, monitor, sample, report, and inspect the Construction Contract such that the Project is constructed in reasonable close conformity with the plans specifications, and special provisions, • Observe and monitor the Contractor’s work to determine the progress and quality of work, • Identify discrepancies during Contractor’s performance of the work and report significant discrepancies to the Town, and direct the Contractor to correct such observed discrepancies, • Inform the Town in a timely manner of any omissions, defects and deficiencies that are not reasonably in close conformity with project specifications as noted in the work of the Contractor, • Provide corrective action procedures to the Contractor, review and approve corrective action measures provided by the Contractor, and ensure all corrective actions have been performed by the Contractor and approved by those stakeholders prior to the next stage of construction, where applicable, • Perform material sampling and testing per NCDOT Standard Specifications, Minimum Sampling Guide, all manuals, and standard operating procedure, • Shall review and approve all changes to the design of the project in conjunction with the Town of Cary and NCDOT, • Shall ensure project closeout including, but not limited to, final estimate payment and providing as-built plans, Conduct one year warranty review and provide a report of findings, Coordinate with NCDOT and the Contractor to fix any defects, Inspect warranty work as it is completed, • Shall administer, test, inspect, and report in such a way to ensure the NCDOT certifies the project upon completion and in such a way that the Town receives a letter of acceptance, • Shall assist with all utility relocation coordination, • And all technicians shall be NCDOT certified for material testing. The three remaining intersections (Cary Parkway at Evans Road, Cary Parkway at Kildaire Farm Road, and Maynard Road at High House Road) are within NCDOT right-of-ways and the work is being performed by encroachment (see Appendix B). The type of work included in this contract includes, but is not limited to, earthwork, asphalt pavement, drainage, concrete curb & gutter, sidewalk, retaining walls, signing, traffic signals, pavement markings, utility re-locations, traffic control, and landscaping.
