Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall employ both the Bonnet Cleaning method and the Hot Water Extraction method. The method used will be dependent on the location. University staff will inform vendor which method to use in which location. For the bonnet cleaning method, the vendor should use a chemical that shall be fast drying, non-toxic, and non-flammable. Fresh, clean pads must be used on each carpeted unit. For both methods, the vendor should provide significant amounts of fans to quickly dry the carpet to prevent mildew/mold growth. Vendors should not adjust the A/C in order to dry out carpets. Carpets should be dry to the touch within eight (8) hours of cleaning. Work shall include but may not be limited to: • Removal of furniture, thorough cleaning of all carpeted areas, and replacement of furniture after carpet has been cleaned. All furniture shall be returned to its original location after carpets are cleaned and ready • All units are to be vacuumed after carpet cleaning is complete and furniture has been returned. Failure to so may result in a credit request and/or termination of this contract. The successful service provider must assure all specified UNC Charlotte facilities are cleaned promptly to meet the needs of the demanding time schedule. Adherence to the schedule is mandatory. • In addition to carpet cleaning, there will be modular furniture upholstery cleaning on a per-unit, as needed basis. • HRL requests the Contractor responds by phone within one (1) hour of being called and on-site no more than twenty-four (24) hours after being called by the HRL staff.
