Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this RFP and any resulting contract award is to solicit proposals for complete and efficient armed, uniformed, security services including reasonable labor, equipment, vehicles and necessary supervision to ensure that employees, visitors, facility, property, and parking areas of the required locations are properly protected. The Security Guard(s) shall establish order and safeguard employees, property, and clients while on agency premises. Security Guard (s) shall be familiar with non-violent resolutions to conflict; assist in emergency situations, identify conflicts, intervene courteously, defuse potential employee/client problems, and perform other security-related functions as required by the using agency. On a routine basis the Security Guard (s) shall conduct interior and exterior roving patrols, checking numerous critical areas (i.e., offices, maintenance shops, garages, dorms, fire pump, well house, ferries, platens, communication centers, and high voltage mechanical rooms), and the administrative offices. All irregularities or suspicious activity will be reported immediately to supervisory personnel and documented in their daily activity reports. Immediately report potentially hazardous conditions and items in need of repair to the agency. In special cases the coordination of a security escort may be needed to facilitate entry into the building and to the appropriate offices. Security Guard (s) will control and record access into and departures from the Shipyard. The present contract has five (5) security guards. Four (4) of the security guards work three (3) twelve (12) hour shift per week and one (1) security guard works two (2) twelve (12) hour shift per week. One (1) of the security guards is designated as the Supervisor.
