Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Firestopping staff shall ensure that the firestop installer firm contracted by the Authority carries out its work in accordance with the contract specifications. The staff must be thoroughly familiar with these specifications as well as the contract drawings. B. The firestopping staff shall keep a detailed and accurate log of daily work in a document format provided by the Authority called a Firestopping Special Inspection Report. The staff must keep daily contact with the Authority’s Materials Supervisor and/or the fire protection engineer to discuss field observations and current project plans and requirements. C. The firestopping staff shall field verify that approved submittal documents, such as tested Underwriters Laboratories (“UL”) System Designs or Engineering Judgments (“EJ”), match the field firestopping conditions. The fire ratings of these field firestopping installations shall meet or exceed the minimum hourly fire rating of the approved tested UL System Designs or EJ assemblies.
