Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Site preparation o Assess soil quality and compaction, and amend soil with high quality, weed free topsoil. o Mulch with all natural, dye-free materials. o Lay out two flag-stone paths through the north and south ends of the garden. o Install new drip irrigation system. • Plant sourcing o Work with pollinator conservation consultant to confirm garden layout (design) to ensure good establishment and aesthetic effect. o Source plants from species list provided with garden plan; any substitutions due to commercial unavailability must be approved. o Source plants from specialized native plant nurseries, using local ecotypes to the extent these are available. Plant sources must be approved by NYPA. o Source second-year and older mature forbs and grasses, and large caliper shrubs. o Ensure plants are available for planting in fall 2019 and spring 2020.
