Specifications include, but are not limited to: Required Engraving Specifications: o Font and Lettering: All lettering is to be uppercase ½ inch special modified Roman font lettering. New engravings must be a visual match to the text in its font and layout of the names originally inscribed on the Memorial keeping all aspects of spacing, depth of engraving into the granite, formatting, and font style as similar as possible. The suffix JR has special requirements; the R is an upper-case letter and half sized i.e. JR. o Engravings on the New York State Police Memorial shall include the name, the department and date of death of each officer. o Description of Material to be Engraved: Cambrian Black Granite (Polycor Granite, Quebec, Canada) with a polished mirror gloss finish. Frequency of Service: o Engraving services will be periodic, upon request by OGS, one or two times a year in the Spring. Approximately 70 names are expected to be engraved per year. o Names are engraved in batches prior to the Annual Remembrance Ceremony which takes place every May. Work must be completed by the Friday prior to the Ceremony.
