The City of Yonkers (the “City”) is soliciting sealed technical and cost proposals to select an Operator to provide a Bike Share System as part of a newly established Yonkers Shared Active Transportation Network (YSATN).
The City of Yonkers (“the City”) launched the first dock-free bike share program in the New York City Metro Area, offering residents and visitors a new, affordable mobility option that supports healthy activity and zero emissions. The program was established as a pilot during which a single bike share operator was selected to operate the program. As the pilot program will soon expire, the City is establishing the Yonkers Shared Active Transportation Network (“YSATN”) and is seeking proposals from qualified operators.
To be considered qualified, the Proposer must demonstrate experience designing, building, operating, maintaining, managing, and marketing a modern bike share system through a network of publicly-accessible human-powered/electric-assist bicycles (“devices”) located throughout the city.
The selected proposer shall also be eligible to negotiate a pilot program with the City for an Electronic Scooter (“E-Scooter”) Share System to be incorporated in the YSATN if so desired and if the selected proposer is considered qualified based on the same categories of experience described above for a bike share system. Establishment of an E-Scooter share program is contingent upon enactment of State legislation authorizing E-Scooter operation in New York State.
