JC-0000000034-IFB - Ludlowville Road (CR 159) Bridge over Salmon Creek Replacement Project

The project is a complete bridge replacement along the current alignment. The existing stone masonry abutments will be removed in areas that conflict with proposed construction, with any remaining portions being buried in the backfill. The proposed abutments are concrete cantilevers that bear on rock. U-wings will replace the existing wingwalls at the begin left, begin right, and end left portions of the bridge. A flared wingwall will be used at the far right corner of the bridge to accommodate the horizontal curve. A retaining wall will be used beyond the far left U-wing to replace an existing stone cribbing wall. The new section consists of two 10 foot lanes and 4 foot shoulders, and four-rail bridge railing. Five (5) weathering steel girders will support a 9.5 inch concrete deck.
