Through this Request for Proposals (RFP), the County of Rensselaer is seeking proposals for “Qualifications and Proposed Fees for Bond Counsel”. The selected firm will serve as Bond Counsel and provide legal advisory services as requested by County Officials, including, but not limited to, the County’s issuance of general obligation debt and appropriation debt, including refunding debt, BAN’s, TAN’s, disclosure in connection with the issuance of County obligations, and related tax issues, as well as ongoing legal counsel with respect to various financial matters.
In addition to awarding a contract for general bond counsel services, Rensselaer County may use the responses from time to time as a basis for awarding other legal service contracts, such as special counsel, underwriter’s counsel, etc. These types of engagements will typically involve a contract for a single, specific or specialized financial transaction.
