The playground shall include and may not be limited to the following requirements: • Playground equipment shall be designed and installed in accordance with all current Federal, State and Local Codes, CPSC, ADA, ASTM, as well as other applicable laws and requirements concerning play equipment in the State of New York. At completion of construction the Town shall be provided with a copy of an inspection certificate from a Certified Playground Safety Inspector Confirming that the playground equipment has been constructed to comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations. • Playground area shall be designed to contain multi-level primary and secondary play structures & equipment for children of 2-5 & 5-12 age groups. 2-5 & 5-12 structures shall be designed independent of each other. • Playground design shall be handicap accessible and offer features that satisfy all code requirements for quantity and type of ground level and elevated interactive play. • Play structures shall incorporate shade apparatus in the form of either formed plastic or metal. Sail structures shall be considered but not preferred. • Playground shall be constructed by factory certified installers. • Playground shall be designed to provide for drainage through either a stone base or drainage fabric channel system. • Playground shall include a safety surface design consisting of structural wood fiber material over a geotextile fabric that satisfies all ADA requirements. Play Feature requirements to include and may not be limited to the following: • Play equipment should include a tall slide. • Spinning features are encouraged. • A variety of climbing apparatus, upper body climbing and lower body climbing functions should be included. • Design shall include a variety of challenging and interesting play stations. • Design shall not repeat play stations. • Suspension bridges are encouraged. • No mirrored or plexiglass panels. • Pseudo rock climbing walls are encouraged. • Side structures (such as climbing apparatus or spinning posts) that are not attached to the main play structure are encouraged and should be included. • All-natural wood components will not be accepted...
