The County of Orange (the "County"), is seeking to retain a fully approved and licensed hazardous waste management contractor to receive, package, manifest, load, transport, and properly dispose of the material listed on the Bid Form of this RFB for the collection events identified herein ("Contracted Material"). The County, under anticipated approval of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, is planning four (4) County-wide Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection events. The purpose of these events is to provide Orange County residents, schools, farms, municipal governments, businesses, and various Departments of Orange County that are Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators ("CESQG") with an economical, convenient and environmentally sound disposal option for their Contracted Materials. A CESQG generates, per calendar month, no more than (i) 220 pounds of hazardous waste, (ii) 2.2 pounds of acute hazardous waste, and (iii) 220 pounds of material from the cleanup of a spillage of acute hazardous waste.
