Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. The City of Farmington Electric Utility System (FEUS) is requesting proposals (RFP) for in-place wood pole inspection and testing services (Offeror) and development of a wood pole maintenance and management program utilizing Resistograph boring equipment. b. FEUS will review proposals for proposed pole inspections and testing programs of all potential tools and processes to determine the best program meeting FEUS needs. Offerors, in their response to this RFP, are expected to provide information supporting the various aspects of Offeror’s proposed program. c. The wood pole maintenance and management program shall include, at a minimum, a process for the least destructive method for above and below ground level testing of poles; pole evaluation, identify and reveal poles posing a safety hazard, poles whose service life would be extended with corrective action, maintenance observations, data collection and provide field findings of each pole inspected and tested. d. FEUS has approximately 58,000 distribution poles and 5,600 transmission poles located in a service territory of 1,718 square miles which includes much of San Juan County and a small portion of Rio Arriba County. It is estimated that 6,250 distribution poles and 700 transmission poles will need tested and inspected during the first year of the pole testing agreement.
