Specifications include, but are not limited to: What is Community Supported Art, or CSA? The program is based on a long-standing agricultural model where community members fund farmers’ seasonal start-up costs in exchange for receiving regular boxes of fresh produce throughout the growing season. Our CSA will start with selecting talented local artists who will receive $2,000 inclusive of tax, to design, produce and deliver a limited edition of 50 small artworks. The public will then be offered the opportunity to buy a “share” in the CSA. In exchange, they will be part of a select group of “shareholders” who will be invited to attend three special events over the course of a year. At each event, they will meet their fellow collectors, visit with three CSA artists and receive an artwork from each one. By the end of the year, they will have collected nine original artworks and met nine talented local artists!
