Specifications include, but are not limited to: Qualified distributors and re-sellers, to provide books that are “bookroom ready”. Quality: The titles to be included in a bookroom are to be quality leveled text. This means that books are authentic quality literature, culturally relevant and accurate, inspire children to think and question, represent different times and truths/ideas, and they align with the school’s curriculum. (International Literacy Association standards) Titles should be available in English and Spanish. (Every English title does not have to be available in Spanish, there should be options available in both languages.) There should be Fiction and Non-Fiction titles available. Packaging: All Bookroom books should be packaged for shipping in a manner that will provide organization and ease of set up for bookroom staff. Books of the same title, subject, reading level, etc. should be packaged and shipped together in one box. APS prefers to purchase titles in increments of 6 copies.
