Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project proposes mechanical dredging of the intake pond at the South Branch Pumping Station located at 512 River Road, Annandale, New Jersey. The South Branch Pumping Station pumps water from the South Branch Raritan River through a 3.5 mile pipeline to Round Valley Reservoir. The pump station withdraws water from a pond constructed adjacent to a channeled portion of the South Branch of the Raritan River. The dredging is proposed to be done in the dry after the approximate 9-acre pond is dewatered. The length of the channel adjacent to the intake pond is proposed to be dredged in the wet and is assumed to be performed using a long reach excavator. Approximately 20,000 cy of sediment is slated to be removed from intake pond and 3,000 cy of sediment is slated to be removed from the river channel. The project also includes the replacement of existing steel ice deflectors that are part of the control structure on the river.
