The center currently houses 18 console positions, including Call Takers, Dispatchers, and NCIC positions. 5.9 2’x 2’ Ceiling Tiles 5.9.1 Vendors shall remove the current ceiling tiles and replace with new tiles in order to increase the sound absorbing material of the ceiling system. The current ceiling tile is a USG Eclipse FL 2’ x 2’ ceiling tile with an NRC rating of .70, with a mineral fiber core. Using the existing grid, replace the existing ceiling tiles with any of the following three products, specifying an NRC rating of 1.0 (no reflectance of sound) a. Armstrong Optima (recommended) b. CertainTeed Performa c. USG Halcyon 5.9.2 Vendors must provide spec sheets for the product being used and any request for substitution must be made according to the requirements in Section 1 above. 5.10 Overlay existing 2’x2’ laminate flooring tiles with sound dampening 5mm Electrostatic Discharge carpet (ESD) OR 5mm Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT). The floor is a raised floor with a 2’ x 2’ grid pattern. New flooring must fit over current flooring in order to allow access to area under grid pattern. The current flooring is a ASM High Pressure Laminate (HPL) flooring system which has an NRC rating of 0, in which 100 percent of the sounds are reflected by this type of flooring. This flooring also tends to create a hollow sound while being walked on as it is not mechanically designed to attach to the support pedestals. The ESD carpet and LVT tiles will increase the NRC rating and help dampen the sounds while walking across the floor. The ESD carpet will also reduce the static charge risk The carpet recommended must be at least 5mm Level 3 with an NRC rating of 1.0 The LVT recommended must also be at least 5mm.
