Specifications include, but are not limited to: A pole may have sweep, subject to the following limitations: (a) Where sweep is in one plane in one direction only, a straight line connecting the center of the butt with the center of the top shall not at any intermediate point pass through the external surface of the pole. ; Poles shall be smoothly trimmed by machine, under the following limitations: (a) The depth of the machine cut shall be to a practicable minimum on the pole surface and in no case shall it be more than one-fourth of an inch. (b) The circumference at any point between knot whorls shall not be reduced by more than one inch. ; All poles shall be branded on the side or face, 14 foot from the butt to the centerline of the brand as indicated on the framing detail drawing, with customer=s initials immediately above the pertinent information ; dense Southern Yellow Pine or dense West Coast Douglas Fir conforming to the latest revision of the American Standard Specifications and Dimensions for WOOD POLES, ANSI 05.1-1987 or latest revision thereof, except herein modified.
