H663 - Project Based Vouchers for the support of DHC's HCV Program (Fall 2019)

Through the Assisted Housing Department, DHC also administers approximately 6,000 Housing Choice Vouchers under the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) (“Section 8”) in five counties in metropolitan Detroit.   

            DHC is making available Project Based Vouchers (PBV’s) to support the preservation or creation of affordable housing opportunities within the city of Detroit and the counties of Wayne, Oakland, Lapeer, Macomb and St. Clair. PBV’s may be awarded for a new construction projects, substantial rehabilitation project or existing units. PBV’s may be awarded to multiple eligible proposers/applicants/sites.  DHC is responsible for determining the amount of budget authority that is available for PBV’s and ensuring the amount of assistance attached to units is within the amounts available under its ACC with HUD for this program.
