220007 - 2020 M-37 Water Main Improvements Project

SUMMARY OF WORK:
 

1. The Village of Middleville desires to upgrade the water main under M-37 at the intersection of W. Main St. and Johnson St.. The work includes the following work items;
   1. Replacing the 6-inch water main under M-37 in the intersection of W. Main St. with a 12-inch water main.
   2. Replacing the 4-inch water main connection and valves at the intersection of M-37 and Johnson St. with a 6-inch water main connection and valves, and connecting the new 6-inch water main to the existing 4-inch water main.
   3. Maintenance of Traffic on M-37 in accordance with the MDOT ROW Permit.
   4. Restoration of all lawn, concrete and HMA pavement areas disturbed by the WORK.

2. Construction sequence: North bound and south bound traffic on M-37 must remain in operation during the work with minimal interruption, but it is understood that there will be times of diminished roadway capacity while the work is being completed. Traffic on W. Main St. will be closed at the intersection of M-37 and a detour will be required.
   1. Complete the work in the south bound and center/left turn lane of M-37 at the intersection of Johnson St. and W. Main St. first. Use the north bound lane to alternately carry both north bound and south bound traffic using flag or signal control.
   2. Complete the work in the north bound and center/left turn lane of M-37 after completion of the work in the south bound and center/left turn lane of M-37. Use the south bound lane to alternately carry both south bound and north bound traffic using flag or signal control.
