In order to provide Clinton Township with contractors and subcontractors who will carry out the work in a timely and satisfactory manner, an approved prequalification for all prime contractors and any utility subcontractors must be on file with the Township prior to the bid opening.  The prequalification categories include:

  • Water main replacement in an existing residential or commercially developed area.
  • Sanitary Sewer Construction in an existing residential or commercially developed area
  • Pavement replacement/ rehabilitation of roadways or parking lots (if paving contractor is bidding as a prime contractor).*
*All proposed paving contractors & subcontractors must meet MCDoR paving contractor qualification requirements.
The work consists of:
  1. 1,610 LF 21” RCP C-76 CL IV Sewer Pipe (Open Cut) and associated manholes
  2. 5,300 SYD Removal and Replacement of Concrete Pavement with associated driveways and sidewalk
  3. 1,650 LF PVC C-900 DR-14, 8 inch Water Main and associated valves and fire hydrants.
  4. 320 LF of Storm Sewer Replacement and associated catch basins and manholes   
  5. Restoration of all disturbed areas
This bid advertisement will be publicly available on the BidNet website by February 4, 2019 and also posted in a local newspaper. Drawings and specifications will be available on the BidNet website at no cost.
Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided by the Owner and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Charter Township of Clinton for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid price. An Insurance Acord meeting the requirements herein shall be submitted by all bidders. Bidder shall be available for a pre-award meeting upon request of the Owner and Engineer.
The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond and labor and material bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price, and maintenance and guarantee bond of 100% for 2 years of the final contract price. The bond cost is to be paid by the accepted bidder.
Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the Owner, Engineer, and their respective employees, arising out of or in connection with the administrative, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid. The Township reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, and to waive any informalities, therein when such waiver is in the interest of the Charter Township of Clinton, and to award the contract to other than the low bidder.
Bids shall remain firm for a period of 60 days.
