Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Public Safety has funds available in the FY 2020 Budget for the purpose of obtaining a professional service agreement for a Violence Prevention Alternative Program. The City of St. Louis is making this funding available to a not-for-profit organization to support a street outreach and violence intervention project to reduce violence associated with firearms in area(s) with high volumes of homicides and shootings. The organization should be consistent with the goal of addressing persistent patterns of violence, operating through a data-driven approach to identify offenders and causes that are responsible for a disproportionate share of violence in the City of St. Louis. All proposals submitted for consideration should be focused on implementation of a coordinated, community-based strategy in the specified geographically defined area(s). The proposals must work through community-based organizations, residents and other individuals well positioned to work with high-risk youth and young adults in the identified area(s). The applicant for these funds must be able to clearly demonstrate that they are prepared to implement the program in the identified geographic area.
