Specifications include, but are not limited to: On an as needed if needed basis. 2.1.1. Provide qualified sign language interpreter services for deaf or hard of hearing students, employees or parents. 2.1.2. Substitute interprets shall check in to the front office when arriving to the school. 2.1.3. Interpreter shall stay with the assigned child(ren) throughout their school day. This may involve changing classes, school activities or athletic events during school hours. 2.1.4. Non-school hours may be required for meetings involving hearing impaired children and or parents. 2.1.5. Student to Interpreter Ratio: The District has a 1 to 1 ration for high school and middle school hearing impaired students. Interpreters for elementary students may have up to 3 hearing impaired students.
