Specifications include, but are not limited to: The work scope also includes the maintenance of beds planted with flowers, trees, weed control in rock areas located on and adjacent to the plant premises, and other tasks as detailed elsewhere in this specification. Contractor shall also be responsible for the maintenance of grass on other District properties located adjacent to and between Angelica and Ferry Streets near the Bissell Point Treatment Plant and at the Prospect Hill Landfill located at Riverview Drive and Scranton Avenue. Mowing and Trimming (15258) The Contractor shall mow and trim all turf grass lawn areas within the Bissell Point Treatment Plant on an as needed basis during the high growth periods of the year (April through May and September through October). Lawns shall be maintained between 2.0 and 3.0 inches in height during these periods. All mowing shall be conducted with industry standard equipment for turf lawns. Coarse mowing with equipment such as brush hogs or flail mowers will not be allowed. The Contractor may elect to use agents that reduce the growth rate during the spring months. However, during these months, a weekly mowing frequency is expected. During the hotter summer months (June through August) mowing can be reduced to every 10 to 14 days as long as a neat appearance is maintained. The height of the turf during the summer months shall be at a minimum height of between 2 and 3 inches. The appearance of taller weeds or uneven grass heights between cuttings will require an increase in the frequency of the mowing cycle.
