Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall only cut all woody material greater than or equal to two inches (2”) in diameter and less than six inches (6”) in diameter at the ground line using a bull hog or similar land clearing/mowing/grinding attachment on a skid steer or similar sized piece of equipment. The stumps from the cut trees shall not be greater than two inches (2”) in height from soil level. The contractor shall utilize a machine with a minimum horsepower of one hundred and five (105). The contractor shall not remove dogwood, hazelnut, plum, prairie willow, hawthorn, or blackberry trees unless specifically instructed to do so by the Area Manager. The Area Manager may include other species of trees and/or shrubs in the exclusion on a treatment unit by treatment unit basis. Some locations may require removal of these species due to the species growing in close proximity to species to be removed.
