Specifications include, but are not limited to: develop a multipronged approach which will be designed to: Enhance the brand of Missouri S&T among MSIs, especially HBCUs, and other institutions with large numbers of underrepresented students, entering underrepresented graduate students get the additional academic help they need to succeed at the University. Develop an Innovative Engineering Institute which will be designed to attract diverse students, acquaint them with the University, build sustainable relationships between the University’s faculty and the students, and increase the students’ interest in pursuing graduate programs at the University, Create a unique HBCU Capacity-Building Program whereby Missouri S&T incentivizes its doctoral students to teach at an HBCU for two years following their graduation, and engage the University’s corporate network in the Program (by providing funding, offering internships, mentoring the students, etc.).
