Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. This work includes, but is not limited to, the design, manufacture, testing, furnish and delivery F.O.B. City Utilities Electrical Material Yard, 742 N. Belcrest Ave., Springfield, MO four (4) outdoor aluminum insulated cabinets and associated materials in accordance with the provisions of this specification. 2. Furnish two Hindle Power type aluminum, NEMA 3R, insulated, vented cabinets with miscellaneous equipment for outdoor use at the North Hwy 13 Substation, per these specifications. 3. One three-section cabinet shall be for: a. The 48-volt DC batteries, associated battery rack, air conditioning and miscellaneous other items; b. The battery charger, fused disconnect, subpanel distribution system and miscellaneous other items; c. The AC/DC panelboards, circuit breakers, terminal blocks, and miscellaneous other items. 4. This three-section cabinet and associated materials will be base bid as item #1 with an AT-10 type charger, and an alternate item #1 bid will be identical - - except the AT-10 charger will be eliminated and replaced with the EVO type charger. 5. Provide the second cabinet with terminal blocks, fuse blocks, rack mounting features, and other miscellaneous items to be a stand-alone cabinet for City Utilities to mount and wire its rack mounted relays, SCADA RTU, and communications devices. The second cabinet shall be identified as cabinet #4 to coordinate with existing owner cabinet numbering at the N Hwy 13 Substation. 6. The cabinet #4 and associated materials will be base bid item #2. 7. With the battery cabinet design specified, we are attempting to maintain about a 70 to 77˚F interior cabinet temperature range with the use of an air conditioner and heater, such that battery life and performance will be improved. 8. Some panel equipment will be installed by the Owner, when the cabinets have been delivered from the Contractor. This equipment is noted in the Drawings and/or these specifications. Battery Cabinet: a. Wet Cell Lead Acid Batteries: (1) Design: (a) Lead selenium {flooded vented lead acid (VLA)} type. (b) Supply for 69kV and 13.2kV breaker control power and protective relays SCADA RTU, communications equipment, lighting, and other station dc equipment. (c) Prefer 6VDC (3-cell) or 12VDC (6-cell) jars. (2) Ratings: (a) Battery Bank Voltage: 48-volt dc nominal. (b) Number of Cells: twenty-four (24). (c) Minimum Rated Capacity: 150 amp-hours to 1.75 volts per cell. (3) Physical Characteristics: (a) Physical support of plates shall be via a system that allows for normal plate expansion without stressing the container or the cover. (b) All containers shall be transparent to allow visual inspection of the plates and sediment spaces. (c) Electrolyte "HIGH" and "LOW" level lines shall be marked on all sides of each container. (d) Solderless type terminal connectors shall be supplied. (e) Both end connectors shall be stainless steel. (f) Include all stainless-steel hardware (bolts, nuts, washers, Belleville washers, and lock washers) for making adequate connections from battery connector to external wiring. (g) Cell shall be delivered with sufficient electrolyte to provide for full capacity at all ratings and shall have a nominal specific gravity of 1.20 to 1.26 at 77 degrees F when cells are fully charged. (h) All cells shall be clearly marked positive post and negative post indications. (i) All batteries shall be delivered charged and wet.
