Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Mississippi Department of Corrections (hereinafter “MDOC”) is hereby requesting written bids for providing transitional housing for individuals released from the care and custody of the MDOC. The MDOC desires to establish an agreement with qualified contractors able to provide a minimum of 10 beds for the services. Transitional housing may be awarded to multiple contractors given the maximum number of beds available at each location. The goal is to help former offenders to secure employment and a more permanent place to live within a four to six month period to reduce recidivism. The Mississippi Department of Corrections is requesting sealed bids for the following services: 4.3.1 Provide transitional housing with alcohol and drug supportive services. Length of stay is minimum of four months and maximum of six months. 4.3.2 Provide transitional housing for a minimum of 10 male and/or female offenders released from MDOC facilities. 4.3.3 Provide supportive services, to include but not limited to the following: 1. Employment skills training and placement 2. Financial management training 3. Educational assistance 4. Alcohol and/or Drug education/treatment 5. Individual and group therapy 6. Opportunity to reconnect with family members 7. Transportation. Pick up released offender from closest bus terminal and transportation to contractor’s location, to and from work as required. 8. Assistance for Permanent Housing
