Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Gulfport intends to employ a consulting engineering firm to provide engineering services utilizing a Cost plus Fixed Fee, Labor Hour/Unit Price or Lump Sum/Firm Fixed Price contract for the Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements Grant – Quad Gates at Highway 49 and CSX Railroad Project. The project will complete PE and NEPA for a new four quadrant gate with a concrete median crossing signal system and separate pedestrian gate. When built, the new gate system will improve the safety of the nearly 49,000 vehicles that travel this route daily and the increasing number of pedestrians that walk the downtown area. This gate system, when constructed, would also be a critical step in implementing a “quiet zone”, a long-awaited goal for the City of Gulfport residents that live along this railway. The Consultant’s scope of the services includes, but is not limited to, surveying, development of construction plans/specifications, preparation of easements/right-of-way maps and deeds for purchases, environmental related services, bidding phase services, construction engineering, and inspection services.
