Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.2.1 The EMSH Clinical Director’s primary role is as the department’s senior clinical leader. As such, they will provide advice and counsel to the Director of the Hospital regarding a broad range of clinical, clinical policy, programmatic, and strategic issues. They will also provide leadership and mentoring to the department’s clinical staff, and as a key member of the executive leadership team, contribute to setting the department’s strategic direction. The Clinical Director also establishes and promotes the professional, clinical, and ethical values and standards to which all clinical staff are expected to adhere. 2.2.2 The Clinical Director, through their expertise and knowledge, provides clinical credibility for the department to a wide range of internal and external audiences, constituencies, customers, regulatory bodies, and other State agencies. 2.2.3 Duties of the Clinical Director may include the following (not an exclusive list): 2.2.3.1 Provide medical and administrative direction and supervision to subordinate professional, technical and clerical staff. 2.2.3.2 Evaluate and review the work of subordinate or other medical providers for appropriate diagnosis, treatment and chart documentation.
