Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Complete the release work as indicated on the individual site project proposals provided by the Project Supervisor. The specifications indicated on the project proposals are part of the Contract requirements. Review them carefully. 2. Sever all competing stems within 4 inches of the ground and below all live branches. 3. Keep all severed brush, trees, branches, etc. as low to the ground as possible, off crop trees, and at least 20 feet from all maintained roads. 4. Refer to individual project proposals for specific details on crop trees and reserve trees. 5. Any vegetation, including aspen, birch, balsam fir and shrubs, that is not competing with crop trees shall be reserved. 6. Keep all roads and trails on the sites open and not blocked with trees, branches, vehicles or debris resulting from this operation. 7. No felling of stems into wetlands or onto private land. 8. On specified RO (red oak) sites, release oak stump sprouts, as well as thin oak sprouts to 2 undamaged sprouts per stump. Reserved sprouts will be the largest, dominant or co-dominant sprouts. Preferably the tallest, sprouts growing from the previously harvested stump at ground level per Project Supervisor’s direction.
