Specifications include, but are not limited to: he Town requests proposals from qualified firms with proven experience to conduct an update to the 1999 Town Comprehensive Plan. An updated Comprehensive Plan will allow the Town to have a baseline on the future of the town with regard to demographics, development, transportation, land use, the economy, natural spaces, parks & trails, and so forth. The Town is specifically looking for a 20-year Comprehensive Plan, containing, but not limited to, public surveys/input, review, studies, maps, and analysis of the following elements: i. Demographics a. Analysis of past and current demographics b. Demographic trends and future projections ii. Land Use a. Overview of Current Land Use b. Review of current Land use, including amount of undeveloped land for each use. c. Determine future land use and needs through methodology and analysis iii. Transportation a. Review of the Town’s Current Transportation systems b. Study of potential transportation needs, both current and future. iv. Parks, Trails, and Open Space Current availability, usage, and management of the Town’s current parks, trails, and open space. v. Natural Resources a. Current Natural Resources in the Town b. Benefits, Management/Protection of, and Accessibility to the Natural Resources vi. Growth Management a. Identify areas of potential growth in relation to the Town’s economy trends and demands. b. Analyze potential areas for growth in the Town. c. Determine and provide tools for growth management based on findings.
