Specifications include, but are not limited to: Consulting firms to provide final plans, specifications, and construction services necessary for the improvements at Carex Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The project will restore a wetland at Carex WMA with the addition of a ditch plug and a new water control structure that will provide for drawdown capacity and route the principal spillway through its natural course to existing drainage ditches. Drawdown capacity will be provided by installing a variable-crest structure in the east-west private drainage ditch at the location of a failed field crossing. The principal run out should be restored to an existing watercourse outletting to the north-south drainage ditch on the east property line. The restoration should seek to fully restore this wetland and provide for the obsolescence and removal of an existing upstream dike that partially restored this basin prior to the State obtaining additional riparian rights to the remainder of the basin. The run out elevation needs to consider dependent drainage outlets from off-site tile drainage. The run out should be "hardened" to prevent head cutting and adequately protect the new outlet and drainage ditch for the long run.
