Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Develop strategies and directly promote the advancement of the identified projects with the United States Congress, the executive branch and federal departments. • Monitor and report federal authorization, appropriations, rulemaking process and federal grant opportunities to advance the designated projects. • Draft Federal legislation and strategically shepherd it through the legislative process as necessary to further the interests of Dakota County. • Be available by phone and teleconference as needed by Dakota County staff to provide information, provide strategic advice, or answer questions. • Collaborate with County staff to prepare background materials (e.g. talking points, white papers, presentations, etc.). • Coordinate meetings as deemed necessary with federal officials.
